Career
My ultimate career goal is to become a neonatal nurse practitioner in either Ohio (my home state) or Indiana. Because this is my goal I am pursing a nursing undergraduate major and am adding a healthcare system administration to help gain leadership skills and have more opportunities working as a nurse before I return back to obtain a masters in nursing. I think this job is the perfect fit because I love babies and want to have the opportunity to help each family's child become health. I also want to be able to lead and diagnose, which is why I plan on continuing my education after my undergraduate degree.

My parallel plan is do something in genetics. I really enjoy looking at DNA sequences and decoding diseases and what parts of DNA contribute to make us who we are. I am fascinated in the future of CRISPR and how it could change the world someday. I think making a career out of this would be amazing, but it is my parallel plan because I want the patient interaction and be able to get to know my patients more than a doctor would. However, someday I may be able to combine my two interested with combining genetics and neonatal.
