A Feature Style Narrative: My Job Shadowing at Riley's Children Hospital ER
Formal Revisions - April 26th 2020

For Writing Project 2, I wrote a feature narrative on my experience job shadowing at Riley Hospital's Emergency Department. Through this project, I gained knowledge and exposure to my future career.

Agenda

  1. Title – A Feature Narrative: A day in Riley’s Children Hospital’s Emergency Department

  2. Purpose – My Purpose for this paper is to make the audience understand how much medical professions care about each patients’ treatment and stay at the ER and to show the emotional barrier the medical professions are taught is often broke down when a pediatric case comes thought the ER doors. I want the audience to respond in a positive way and be grateful for the nurses in todays world because nurses are often on the lower end of authority in a hospital, however, care the most for the patients.

  3. The ideal reader for this paper is anyone interested in the daily life at an Emergency Department, a medical professional, or a nursing/premed student.

  4. My introduction strategy is to start with trouble because the 7-month in cardiac arrest catches my target audience’s attention, because it does not happen often

  5. I used the ice – ice paragraph method and Anomalisa Modeled Paragraph

In paragraph 9 I used the Ice – Ice method to describe how medicine kiosks help the nurses because they prevent them from making life threating mistakes like they did in the past.

In paragraph 5 I used the Anomalisa Modeled Paragraph to describe how nurses are affected by their patients, and often feel 4 common emotions when patients are not getting better.
